The case arrived quickly and was easy to assemble with my SSD. I really like the bumper as it protects the drive and keeps it stable - it won't slide out of the metal case on a hard surface. It doesn't work through my USB hub, but works great when plugged directly into my Mac. So in my experience you need an open USB port that your computer can directly access. It came with a USB cable with a double connector on one end. In my case, it doesn't need a second plug for power, and I'd rather have a plug than an extra unconnected one dangling there, but it's probably better to include that cord just in case. A simple single connector is probably easier and cheaper to find if you want to use that instead. Maybe even one got stuck. The only obvious design issue is that there is an LED indicator on the case to show when it's on and active. When the rubber bumper is on the body, it completely covers the LED. The bumper has no gap or hole for light. Since I can see the drive mounted on my computer's desktop, I don't have to, but showing an LED as a main selling point when it can't be used in the expected configuration (with a bumper) is inconsistent.
