Average price and performance

For $30 you get what you pay for. Got this because I bought a head that could take it and thought it was novelty. I have a big, long truck with tinted rear windows, so a backup camera would have been nice, but it wasn't necessary. And that's a good thing, because with this camera, that's pretty much all it's good for. First, the picture quality is okay. Even in bright light, it's not very visible. Surprisingly, the quality in the dark is about the same, so night vision works well, only the image is not very high quality. More importantly, the angle is not wide enough. I drove a rented Lincoln Navigator with a backup camera that I swear can see over 180 degrees. It was also set high enough that, combined with the wide angle, you could see the bumper at the bottom of the screen. With this camera (I mounted it just above my bumper) I definitely can't see any part of the truck and I can't see anything in any of the corners. Right behind me, so using the side mirrors in combination is a must (not that you only have to use the camera anyway, but.). The camera and her body are a bit big. Yes, it's for a number plate, although I have a feeling it's not very secure from thieves. But it's not imperceptible at all. You can see it from a mile away as it approaches the truck, so don't count on a hidden installation. Last but not least, and this is basically an increasing problem, but in the rain the thing is 100% useless. I even applied it under my lip hoping it would stay a little drier but it didn't help. You can't see anything when it's wet. Not bad for a basic camera, but don't expect more.
