I like this thermometer. I use the extended range today when I smoke Thanksgiving brisket, the transmitter is about 400 feet away and it works great behind several layers of stucco walls and two layers of steel paneling. He only fainted once when he hit the 12 o'clock mark, and that was to be expected. The only time I had connection issues was when I was in my basement with multiple layers of cinder block wall and lots of dirt between the transmitter and receiver, about 350 feet between the transmitter and receiver, even then it received a signal about 70% of the time . I am very happy with this thermometer and would recommend it. However, I wish ThermoPro would offer a hard case for carrying and storage.
