This is a well-made vest. The snaps and material feel like a Fall jacket (durable). Cute drawstrings everywhere. I searched and searched hoping for the perfect vest (IT IS!) . I almost returned it because I dislike hoods. I don't use them and hate that they stick out. This one certainly doesn't want to lay flat. As long as you plan to wear the collar folded down (or if you have long hair), then you can cut the hood off. Even if you have short hair (which I do), the collar folded down will cover the area that you cut. Small fit perfect on me. My height / weight is 5'4" and 115 lbs.
