Keeping the VE/Fuel tables in the ECU is important for performance and fuel efficiency when changing batteries. When changing the battery on my 98 Ranger, I was able to test the performance of this inexpensive tool. My check engine light is on at this time. The test is designed to confirm that the 9 volt battery (non-alkaline) can maintain ECU health when the main power supply is removed. Checked whether the CE indicator remained after battery replacement. To be honest I was impressed that this little tool actually works; and the price is quite reasonable. five smiles
