Problem Solver - Thoughtful Design

My 9 month old standard poodle likes to mess up when he drinks. He rushes to swallow as much as he can, then turns away from the bowl and splashes water everywhere. After researching the options, this bowl seemed worth trying. When I opened the package I was initially discouraged because it looked like it would be difficult to fill. The bowl is made up of multiple layers that snap together to protect the floating lid that restricts water flow. Luckily, after everything is set, you simply pour water into the carved little paw print and the float will rise to the top. All parts make a well-made impression. Most often it is a soft plastic. The upper frame is securely fixed. The whole mechanism looks great for use in an RV or van. I played with it, shaking the bowl of water from side to side and it didn't splatter. My dog quickly figured out how the bowl works. Basically, he pushes the lid and some water rises to the top. It didn't completely eliminate the clutter, but it did reduce it by at least 75%. Before this bowl we only let him drink outside or in the garage. Now he's drinking in the kitchen. The spray stays within a few feet of the bowl and is usually just a few drops. I only have cleaning left. Over time, the plastic tabs on the bezel will break from repeated assembly and disassembly. I will update the review if this is the case. I am very happy with the bowl so far.
