Review on Wireless headphones Creative Outlier Air, black by Aneta Kuchter ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am not disappointed, the quality is satisfying.

I was looking for headphones with aptX codec, moisture protection and adequate autonomy. I bought it as soon as they appeared in 2022, in July 2022, I was very pleased. In early January, there was a problem with the left earpiece, the service replaced the speaker under warranty, but nothing has changed. After going through the forums and realizing that the problem with the speaker is quite common, I decided to return them and choose new ones. In one large store in the center of Hong Kong, I listened to Creative Outlier Air Gold, Sennheiser Momentum, Plantronics Backbeat 5100 and RHA True Connect, compared. I really liked the sound on Plantronics - smooth, clean and detailed in the middle and highs, the bass is tight, but not intrusive. After them, Creative sound rather clumsy, but in general they are very good.

Pros
  • 1. The sound is really good, especially for electronic music, in the broadest sense. You can no longer listen to jazz and academic music on them - the middle sounds blurry and plastic, and there is no need to talk about the width of the stage and the depth of the sound (see commentary). 2. Ergonomics - the headphones are comfortable to wear. They sit comfortably, tight buttons are not as tight as many write - you need to adapt a little. 3. Autonomy - she generally left. Sometimes I didn’t charge the headphones for about a week, given that I listened to an hour or two a day. It is very convenient. 4. USB-C connector. No need to carry other wires with you, in addition to the wire from the phone. This is a significant advantage.
Cons
  • 1. After six months, the left earpiece began to play noticeably worse - there was less bass, and the volume generally decreased. I gave it to the service under warranty, they fixed it, but it didn’t get any better. I decided to return them completely and choose others, since this problem is repeated by many users and somehow the trust in the model is rapidly falling. 2. The headphones do not turn off when you put them in the case, which causes inconvenience when making incoming calls - you pick up the phone and only after a few seconds you think of switching the sound source to the phone's speaker (however, this only happened to me when the case was completely discharged - when it is charged, nothing there is no such thing, and they turn off stably after a fairly short time).
