I have never used any other brand of yarn but this yarn is amazing. I've used it for all kinds of handyman repairs or crafts. I used it to tie together a broken floor lamp that wasn't even standing, fixed a broken chair, attached a heavy wall lamp to a flat metal candle holder with a heavy wall, used it to tie wood and staples together into a curtain. Poles for hanging decorations for photos, etc. It's so strong and can bear a lot of weight. I feel like a professional boat builder considering how many knots I've tied with this thing. It is smooth and does not flake. It doesn't scratch like other types of strings. This is the main thing that I always have with me wherever I go!
