I'm using this with a Ryzen 5950x in a Fractal Define 7 case with 3 standard fans. When testing with Prime95, the processor runs at 65°C with the fan at 25%. Some P95 tests raise the temperature to the mid 80's for 20 to 30 seconds, but never higher, then immediately return. Have run the P95 overnight with the same results. The task manager reports CPU @ 100% and CPU speed 4.5 GHz. I haven't tried increasing the frequency to 5GHz yet, but I expect the temperature won't change much. Ironically, this cooler performs better at lower fan speeds. Does it have to have something to do with the air turbulence that occurs at higher fan speeds? I've attached the fan speed profile that gave me the results above (P95 running in the screenshot). This is from gigabyte mobo. I keep the fan at minimum (10%) until the temp hits 65 and then increase it to 100% at 80. This worked better than the built in fan profiles in Mobo and manually increasing the fan speed at lower temperatures. Normal use I have set the fan to turn off below 50 and it stays off when I'm just browsing the web or using other quiet applications. Cheaper and quieter than a water cooler and I suspect it works just as well.
