Review on ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ 8 Oz Leatherique Leather Rejuvenator and Prestine Clean Duo by Sean Chase

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I have noticed that the surface texture is a bit better but the skin is still mostly wrinkled

This skin rejuvenator has worked very well for me. It took a while to work but it fixed my water damaged car seats. My project: A 2009 BMW with the extra "Dakota" leather that used to be in pristine condition. The windows and sunroof were left wide open because of the overnight rain. Not just a little wet, an inch of water on the floor, it's a disaster. The leather was completely wet, swollen and soft, then contracted as it dried, leaving the undersides of the seats hard and cardboard-like. For a few weeks I tried using regular skin treatments on a daily basis but to no avail. Then she overcame the shockingly high price and bought Leatherique's anti-aging product. That thing is gross and sticky. Difficult to wash off hands. At first I just applied it to the undersides of the seats and left the car in the garage for a few days (June pretty warm in Houston). After cleaning with a leather cleaner I noticed that the surface texture was slightly better but the leather was still mostly wrinkled. I read somewhere that this type of skin is sealed on the surface, so I wasn't expecting an immediate result, but it did appear like the oils were penetrating the skin (there must be some surface permeability or it would Water doesn't drench it in right?). Over the next few weeks, I performed two more multi-day treatments and saw incremental improvements each time. , but it took a few more weeks for the compression to gradually relax. I suspect this was due to the oils slowly diffusing through the skin. During this time I also worked on the gearshift gaiter and the handbrake gaiter. The parking brake housing looked good but was always stiff and papery (at least in 2 years of car ownership). Since the shift housing and parking brake have never really been moved I have just lubricated them with oil for the past few weeks and both have shown significant improvement. I don't think they're the same high quality leather as the seats, but both feel a lot more supple now without feeling papery.
