works like a geared shear
i previously bought a fisker geared hand pruner and fell apart trying to cut a half inch shrub. i returned it and got this metal geared hand pruner. works like a charm. the metal gears cuts easily without ratcheting action. i hope this pruner will last me a lifetime. by the way now all my garden tools have metal gears. the hand pruner, the shears and the lopper.
