Review on πŸ–€ Microplane Classic Zester/Grater in Sleek Black: Unleash Flawless Zesting and Grating Abilities by Chris Cranor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's really all there!

For years I've wondered why anyone would buy zeal. I mean, I have a citrus grater, so why keep another disposable utensil? So when I had to make a recipe that called for 1/2 cup of raisins and knew how long it would take me to grate 1TB, I decided to take the plunge. And boy oh boy am I ever glad I did! Comparing a grater to that is like comparing a golf cart to a Ferrari! It's very sharp so you don't even have to squeeze it. Simply run it across the surface of a lemon/orange/lime/grapefruit and it will remove thin, tiny streaks. Know that if you want a thinner shell, throw in a few extra legumes in the food processor. I have a small processor that I use exclusively for spice and it worked great. Since the recipe was sweet, I added a few trillion sugars to the food processor to keep the peel from sticking to the blades. Works great. This pup's incisors are very sharp and for that reason he comes with a protective cover that can be stored in an equipment drawer to protect fingers from cuts. Cleaning becomes an easy task when you keep an old sanitized toothbrush near the sink. I had a quarter of a lemon that I used for juice and I thought, as is often the case, 'Damn! I cut." However, since I didn't want it to go to waste, I took the lust with me to this miserable, cramped neighborhood. The microplane worked like magic! Try doing THIS with a grater. I could put the raisin in extract from a ziplock bag which I kept in the fridge for later use. I don't know what I've done in the last 50 years of cooking without this appliance. I wasted a lot of time scraping my knuckles, that's what.

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Hard to say
