Collar keeps slipping

I bought this to replace the collar my dog has outgrown. I put it on his rechargeable wireless fence device and synced it up. Seemed great until I found his collar on the floor. This collar keeps loosening and falling off. I ended up having to take a needle and thread and sew them together.
