Review on πŸͺ‘ Quakehold! Furniture Strap Kit 4160, Black by Randy Basque

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product but too short

Easy to apply and seems durable (my seniors needed pliers to pull the industrial Velcro off). But remember that even though the strap is 15 inches long, the Velcro takes up 6 of those inches and the grommets (where a lag screw can be attached) are only 3 and 6 inches from the Velcro. So if you estimate you have 1 inch or more of slack between the lag screw and the velcro, that means you need to secure that 2-5 inches from the edge you are stabilizing. In my case, I stabilized a 54" wide china cabinet on each side, and with 16" studs center to center I was able to mount it, but I had to position the cabinet further up the wall than I wanted it to be with aligned with the stud. If I had a cabinet that was say 58 inches wide I would have to attach at least one of the straps outside of the cabinet profile and I wouldn't like the look. Another option would be to use a shorter velcro on the case which would make the connection less secure. It would have earned five stars if they made the strap a bit longer with an extra eyelet or two to allow for more flexibility in positioning. The issue I mentioned is with the side mount. The installation above does not bring this problem.
