I have had several of these eyecups over the past 3 years. This is indeed a very good product but requires a simple repair ie a dab of superglue in at least two places on the plastic section. All you have to do is separate the 2 sections and then apply a dab of glue to the plastic piece in the channel where the rubber piece meets. Then reconnect the two sections. In this case, the eyecup will serve you for many years. Rest assured, if you don't follow this procedure, you will undoubtedly lose the rubber cap. These eyecups fit me perfectly, but when ordering make sure you order the correct eyecup for your specific camera model. I know, speaking from experience. I used to have the Canon Rebel series and when ordering this item for my new Canon 7D I chose the wrong item. Models 7D and above require a different product than Rebels.
