I am familiar with konjac sponges; I've been using them for several years now (I also live in Japan and they're very common here). Before ordering this set, I used a high quality Kyoto brand konjac sponge made of special white charcoal etc. To be honest, while I love konjac sponges, I wasn't impressed with them. I also wanted to take the smaller one with me when I travel (put it in a mini zip) and I liked the choice of three interesting types for my skin type (compound, cracked, aging) so I ordered this set; I'm so glad I did, I'm very impressed. First, these are real konjac sponges, so despite the cute shape, you get an effective sponge. Next up: shape - although I personally didn't care if it was heart-shaped or not, I'd still order again because of that! It's perfect for holding in hand to reach small areas of your face. One side is flatter, the other side is rounder, there is a "dot" etc, it just works. You can smooth and rub any part of the face, around the nose, mouth and behind the ears. you have the idea Which brings me to texture; as you probably know, konjac sponges have a special texture; They are perfect - not too soft or slippery, but smooth. They feel absolutely wonderful on the skin - you can just wash and wash as much as you like and your skin will be brighter, clearer and more even, and there is no irritation, redness or "chafing" sensations. Konjac sponges are amazing; They are so gentle yet powerful. And this set is amazing. I use green in the morning to wake up my face and black for "cleansing properly". But I often take one in each hand and massage my whole face and it's the BEST feeling. In addition, a great bonus score; they don't fall apart; Mine is damp, I use them every day, then hang them up, but they don't always dry completely. My other cognac sponges would fall apart with the same quantity and handling, so another reason to reorder. I also plan to get some and make them available for guests/gifts. Try them, you won't be disappointed - they are gentle, amazingly effective skin care products. Also great customer service - they emailed me to explain what cognac is. - Knowing what to expect I was fine with that, but they are different from what many people are used to, so this may be useful. So yes; Highly recommended all round.
