Review on Breathable Low-Height Knotch Peak Sneakers For Kids By KEEN by John Wells

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not really sandals nor water shoes

—-Edited Review after 200 miles of use—-My son and I have been hiking with these shoes for almost 200 miles now. We do a 3-5 mile hike at least 4-5x a week. As you can see these shoes have held up extremely well. The sole on the shoes are just starting to wear down. After so much use they started getting a bit stinky so I just washed them in the machine.—-EDITED REVIEW—-So we have done a few hikes now in these shoes and these shoes are perfect for those muddy trails. They kept my sons feet completely dry and don’t soak through. Still keeping the rating of 4 stars tho since I think calling them water shoes or sandals is a disservice since it just aren’t what these shoes are. I attached a few pictures of what it looked like after the muddy trails.—-ORIGINAL REVIEW—-Made in ChinaThis pair of shoes really aren't sandals nor are they water shoes. There is no open part to these shoes to call them sandals and using the term water shoes makes me think that these are meant to be used in and out of water like at a beach or something. Instead these shoes appear to be more like a pair of sneakers really meant to keep your feet dry.The coating on the shoes appear to be water-resistant so that water doesn't soak right through them. The description, "Washable and water-ready, the Knotch Peak jumps into puddles." makes these shoes more of a pair of shoes for wet but not necessarily rainy days. The tongue of these shoes are not webbed to prevent water from getting in through the top of the shoes. Therefore these wouldn't work to replace rainboots since rain can still seep in through the top of the shoes. All that aside, the shoes are a good fit for my son who has wide feet. We ordered him a size 6 and they are just a tiny bit big (which is perfect for growing into). They are comfortable and perfect for the wet days after rains when boots are no longer needed but water resistant material keeps his feet dry in case he steps into a puddle.I took one star off because I really needed a pair of sandals/water shoes and I had ordered this based on the title. Since the shoe fits and it still is a great pair of shoes. just not what we had thought we were ordering based on the title of the shoe.Review For:KEEN Unisex-Child Knotch Peak Closed Toe Water Sandal
