Review on ⚡️ GE 10458 Indoor 360deg Motion-Sensing Light Control: Utmost Efficiency for Automated Indoor Lighting by Courtney Richardson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well most of the time

I installed this sensor in my 2 car garage and connected it to a 1 to 5 socket adapter to turn on 1 CFL and four LED bulbs. Initially I had issues with poor sensitivity but I adjusted the knobs on the 5 pin adapter so they were out of the way and it helped. And I also found that rotating the sensor about 45 degrees from its original position also helped a lot for some reason. Now the sensor keeps turning on when I open the door between the garage and the house. It doesn't turn on when the garage door is opened, but it turns on all the time when my car's front bumper is a few feet from the garage. door to my garage. I have to wave my arms or it won't turn on when I walk through that door. For testing purposes, I removed my 5-bulb adapter and only plugged in one bulb; It seems to work a little better, but not by much. It just so happens that I don't use this door very often, so most of the time it does its job well. My old motion sensor seemed to turn on for a period of time after first detecting motion and then ignoring any motion. continued movement - this meant it would turn off regularly while I was working in the garage. I didn't have these problems with this sensor. I leave it on a short timer, about 2 minutes, but I've found that it rarely turns off when I'm working in the garage as it constantly detects my movement and resets the timer. The only time I remember it turning off was when I was on the stairs and the garage door opener motor was between me and the sensor, so that's forgivable. When set to the shortest interval, it will turn off 45-60 seconds after the last motion detection.
