Anyone who has ever gone shopping knows that copper bowls are not cheap, some branded items are damn expensive. For our occasional protein adventure in the kitchen, we opted for a copper bowl. After some research we settled on this large, just the right size bowl from Revain, 12 inches seems like the right size for baking, especially blending or mixing. and yes, ours had a nice walnut-sized dent in the middle of the bowl. I almost foresaw this and was convinced I wouldn't be returning the trophy unless I was completely corrupted. My first thought was to press on the inside of the bowl with something smooth and round like a bowling ball (for example), but my first try was with my thumb and a little pressure; and got up immediately. I just massaged the inside of the bowl a bit and the result was totally acceptable (IMHO). The bowl is polished on the outside to a beautiful polished finish, looks great on a wall or pot rack. Again, this isn't a commercial or industrial bowl in my opinion, so it's not overly thick. I'm not sure how thick it is, but it holds up well to normal physical abuse in the kitchen and during the baking process. I'm not at all casual with the bowl, although I do remember banging it on the counter etc held it up with no dents or scars. A good finish is long lasting, I try not to use abrasive cleaners on it and only use mild detergent and water to clean and towel dry. Note that this is a bowl, so there are no feet or racks on its round bottom. I would rate this as a good buy and I would recommend it to the occasional baker or chef.
