READ BEFORE BUYING - Danger of bleeding!

I bought a black set of 2 pillowcases made of 300 thread count Egyptian cotton. I'm only giving them 3 stars because they bleed like crazy! I badly needed the covers and all I needed to wash were the headlights and I figured you never know if something bleeds these days so I threw them in the with some soap and even without waving them for 15 minutes kitchen sink. the water was black as oil. Serious. If I added anything other than the blackest of all blacks to them, I would have black spots all over them. Now, as I rinsed them off with my hand, I expected them to continue bleeding, but the bleeding seemed to have stopped. I didn't have a chance to wash them again. I will try to update this review as soon as I have it. Another thing that's really a personal annoyance and I didn't deduct for that. Last time I bought bed sheets (elsewhere) I found them to have an almost satin sheen. I thought it would go away after I washed them. nope And from the moment I took them out of the dryer, they started attracting dust and lint until it seemed like there couldn't be any more cat hair in the house. I couldn't put them on the bed so I washed them again, same thing. And again. And again. And gave up. I haven't used sheets since then. I'm telling you this because these pillowcases have the same satin sheen. I don't know if it will go away after a few washes or not. Had I known they had that much shine I would never have bought them, but like I said that's my personal preference so I didn't deduct anything for it.

Pros
  • understandable even for old people
Cons
  • for pensioners
