Updated rating 7/31/2021 Second heater didn't last as long as first. It has also been used in much less harsh environments. In fact, it's indoors, so it's not used that often. I usually set it to Auto with a setting of 60-64F. However, in less than 9 months the engine seems to have burned out. A terrible smell preceded his work cessation. The oscillator still works, but the fan and heating element do not. I expected a lot more from this since I saw how well the first one worked. It's a shame he died so early. I've contacted the manufacturer and we'll see what they do with their 3 year limited warranty. I have reduced the number of stars in this review from 5 to 2 to reflect the poor performance of the second block. If the company takes care of the warranty and replaces the unit I will update this review again and give it 4 stars to reflect their belief in the warranty and the excellent performance of this product the first time we bought it. This heater has withstood some harsh conditions. This was the heater used in the 10x20 tent I live in. It remained in use almost continuously for over two years. In the summer there are breaks, and then only during the day, as it's still cold at night. Finally he melted the top part where the three silver highlights are. Keep in mind that this was after about two and a half years of constant use. As for his work. Keep in mind this is a 20cm x 10cm tent so has no insulation to keep in the heat like your bedroom does. However, that heater could still make it nice and toasty. The only time he had trouble keeping warm was during the harshest of winters. Even then, the temperature rose from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to the mid-40s. The ability to rotate it 360 degrees or focus on small areas is also a huge plus. I never use the remote but it works fine as long as you have a direct connection to the remote sensor. So, when that old heater broke. Wanted one as a replacement. Most of you don't have to wear it all the time in emergency situations in a camping tent. Hopefully in a few months this tent will be replaced with a proper guest room.
