I found this thread to be a great replacement for the plastic wax thread I used to buy. The floss I've used for years has broken from time to time, but this floss, while thinner and more comfortable to the touch, hasn't broken yet. I've only been using it for a few months, so months to years is hardly a good comparison. The taste is light, more like a hint of mint. I have no problem slipping between my teeth. In fact, thinner makes it easier to use. Overall I think it works just as well as plastic filament. The only thing to worry about is where the filament is coming out of the top of the bottle, right next to the metal splinter so you're just sticking out this super small filament. It's okay to prevent it from falling back into the bottle, but it happens. I started pulling out the excess to layer before cutting off a piece of thread so I have more thread to pin with my thumb when I use it again.
