Review on 🚪 eufy Security Wireless Video Doorbell Add-on, 2K Resolution, 2-Way Audio, Easy Self-Installation, Requires HomeBase 1, 2, or E by Rob Kerr

I have 4 Eufy cameras: a doorbell and three 2C cameras, all of which I've only used for about 3 months. . I was very happy with the performance and battery life of the three cameras, but the doorbell was disappointing. Doorbell battery died every 3 weeks and last time died without warning. The battery icon in the app turned yellow but for some reason it suddenly stopped recording activity like it was dead. I charged it for a few hours in the evening instead of the usual 4 hours it takes to fully charge ( it took some battery life to get through the night), and the battery indicator in the app showed the battery was fully charged, which was also odd as it should have been about half as it only had a half charge. Keep in mind that two of my three 2C cameras see significantly more activity on a daily basis than a doorbell, and I've only had to charge one of these 2Cs so far, and only once in those 3 months. Not sure why the doorbell battery life is so short even in terms of settings as my 2C's settings are set to the same as the doorbell and I have disabled the doorbell backlight to save battery life. Needless to say I docked a star for the very poor battery life. I also give another star for the slow real-time view of the doorbell. When I access the doorbell cam to watch live video or just watch a recording, it stays in a "prepare to play" loop, and each time I have to exit the cam and come back. second try. All my 2C cameras respond in real time on the first try. Because of this, I missed the voice answer on the doorbell a couple of times. Speaking of which, I'm also disappointed by the low volume of the doorbell speaker. This isn't just the case with a doorbell, however, as the 2C cameras are also too quiet for a person trying to hear you from outside. Overall, I plan on leaving the doorbell on as I like that Eufy's video is local and secure, but I'm hoping Eufy works to ensure it has the same quality and battery life as its 2C cameras.
