So when I first got it I was pretty confused. It shows the batteries and I couldn't figure out where the batteries went. I just had to charge it haha. SO THAT'S A HUGE PLUS! Batteries are not required. All you have to do is plug it into the wall or computer and charge it up! It's small but perfect for little hands! Even I can use it when I'm 30, so it's great for all ages. No tools are required either. just charge and go! My daughter's birthday is June 25th so she hasn't used it yet but I keep playing with it and love it! I just take it out of the case, charge it and put it back in the case. I was disappointed that the small spot you look through to take the picture isn't real. you can't see through it. So you have to use the screen. But visually it works great. He makes videos and photos. The camera audio is a bit low, but when you upload it to a computer, it's perfect. The best part? THERE ARE GAMES! Of course these are slow and quite old games, I don't care. It's amazing and I'm sure it will be the best gift she has received in all her 6 years! It comes with everything you need except the part that plugs into the wall. But a simple phone booth will work. I would personally recommend it for 4-7 year olds. But my 11 year old daughter found it charging and although she has an adult cam she wants one for her birthday in July so it could be for older kids too.
