The plus is that the protective barrier these give seemed to help heal my cold sore faster and with less scarring. Only issue was keeping it dry to maintain transparency. If I didn’t change out the patch every couple of hours (sometimes every hour) then it would become obvious that I was wearing a patch, and it would start to turn white from moisture trapped underneath it. I was able to use these at home during quarantine but not sure how they would perform if I were at work facing people, wearing makeup, etc.
