My mom unfortunately has a neighbor in her apartment building who continually feeds birds despite numerous requests by management to cease and desist. As a result, bird poop and bird food (seeds, corn, etc.) are continually falling on my mom's air conditioner that is installed in a 5th floor apartment window of a 9-story apt. building.I am concerned about the bird poop and food entering the vents of the AC unit (and they already have!) and eventually impairing the functioning of the unit. I saw this AC cover and the quality looked excellent so I decided to give it a try. It is very good quality fabric, and the bungee cords are very strong. I had to attach them to the back of the AC that has no vents but has other metal bars, and on a section in the window because the vents on the sides of the AC unit are too small for the bungee hooks (since this cover is designed for outdoor central air units and not window units, the vents on a window unit can't accommodate the bungee cord hooks that come with this cover.) I saw smaller bungee cord hooks in a hardware store, but found another way to attach the hooks and hold the AC cover in place. They bungee cords are very strong, and have held the cover in place. The AC unit is smaller than the length of this cover, but I easily folded the cover back in one section to fit the AC unit. Best of all, the bird poop and food can no longer enter the vents of my mom's AC! I highly recommend this product!
