Really happy with this Tx

This is my first radio and I don't think I could be happier. Once you get over the learning curve, it's really powerful in terms of configuration. Get the open source Companion tool for Windows for sure! Makes set up of a new model so much easier! I've had it about a month and I've got it doing voice feedback with the Amber sound pack, logical states to switch flight modes with verbal cues, custom start screen, etc. Really really happy with it. You'll also want to get the rechargeable battery…

Cons
  • Limited support for telemetry

Impressive remote for price

I got this to run a tinyhawk 2 drone and absolutely love it so far. It has more options than I know what to do with but was still able to fire it up and make a different throttle profile to slow it down inside while learning. It has a usb port to connect to the pc and can be used as a controller for flying simulators which is great for me to practice with. I opened it up and adjusted the gimbals to my liking by loosening the throttle notching screw to completely disengage and tightening the…

A solid transmitter

This is my first transmitter I have purchased based on the number of videos on YouTube as well as websites for the drone enthusiast. Well the instructions that come with our limited I found plenty of resources online so far I’m quite happy with it as I delve more into drones and have my eyes set on a more danced unit.

Pros
  • Multiple Battery Options: Battery: 800mAh NiMH/ 1800mAh LSD NiMH/ 2S LiPO Battery (Optional Accessories) Charger: FCX07 Li/NiMH Dual Mode Charger (Optional Accessories)
Cons
  • Poorly written user manual

What I disliked about this Flight Controller was literally 1 day over the return date. My FC bugs out and breaks down on me. If you can make this acceptation by letting me return this remote or refund me I would. greatly appreciate that. I literally got to use it for a week or two and it was a great controller and I finally set up my two drones on there and then it broke down. If you go ahead and look at my return percentage it isn't high at all. I usually never return items. Im just trying to…

Pros
  • 16 channels offer exceptional control options for a wide range of applications
Cons
  • Inconsistent performance under certain conditions

Nice radio in my review

Great transmitter, and very easy to use. Range is better then my ability to see the quad so no issues there.Would have gave 5 stars if a better battery or rechargeable solution came with. Not sure how everyone elses does, but mine would eat AA batteries like candy. Cheap batts might last 2 days and higher end energizer and duracell might give you a week. Switched to a Turnigy nano-tech 2000mAh 2S1P 2040C LiFePo4 Transmitter Pack, and now only have to charge it about once a week.

Pros
  • Radio Transmitters
Cons
  • Limited number of channels compared to other options

this is easily the best entry level transmitter you can buy

If you're diving into the hobby, do some reading on how to configure these things before you buy. Its not hard by any means, but you definitely have to know what you're doing. That being said, this is easily the best entry level transmitter you can buy. Its only marginally worse than the X9D, which costs nearly 2x as much. The quality is absolutely fantastic, and this transmitter is VERY easy to take apart and modify (basically plug and play with a 2S battery, that way you don't have to chew…

Pros
  • Ability to run off external power sources for versatile field use
Cons
  • No internal speaker for alarms

Upgrading the firmware was easy using the OpenTX software

I've been flying off and on for over 10 years. I've had a few controllers in that time span and this one works very well. Upgrading the firmware was easy using the OpenTX software. I was even able to use the transmitter to update the firmware on my RX.The buttons are in good locations for the way I fly. For those that know the difference, I usually fly as a pincher.

Pros
  • Trainer mode for effective instruction and training
Cons
  • Limited options for firmware modifications

Perfect, but you have to get everything just right.

Works amazing, and with some mods on the internet, you can make this thing do almost anything you want (if you can code or understand it). So far, I've been able to make each switch functional (left for arm, right for buzzer, etc.) with some help of YouTube, make some switches play .mp3 files while I fly, control volume with the knobs, make my own splash screens, and incorporate sounds from Portal for the various commands! Works perfect with openTX and Liftoff for practice (FPV Drone game on…

Pros
  • 14 years and up
Cons
  • No haptic feedback

Best bang for your buck!

This is the first radio I tried to understand radio programming. So now for me it is super easy and I can do just about anything I want with the incredibly powerful OpenTX software that it comes with. Being able to have 16 channels for less than most 8 channels is huge. Talking to others who have other brands they don’t find the programming so easy. Just like I don’t find Spektrum programming easy or intuitive. It’s a matter of two different languages really they are both similar in what you…

Pros
  • Large LCD screen for clear and detailed display of information
Cons
  • Incompatible with some simulators

This is my favorite radio, ever.

Switched to FrSky from Spektrum (and HiTec prior to that).I've only used this for flying quadcopters (both real and simulator).I was hesitant to purchase this radio since many reviews mention it's complexity and steep learning curve.I am glad I made the switch. The learning curve was a non-issue given the amount of documentation available online. So many features, many I'm sure I have yet to discover.

Pros
  • Telemetry compatibility to monitor and display real-time data
Cons
  • No support for crossfire modules

Small tabs on battery cover.

Update:The seller is sending me a new battery cover. I still think the tabs on the cover are too small and this wouldn’t be so much of an issue if the covers were more readily available. What you find out after purchasing this transmitter is that it does not come with essential items like a battery or charger. After purchasing all the missing pieces, you could have bought the more expensive version with better gimbals. My battery door has a broken tab now after about 3 months of use. I contacted

Pros
  • Compatible with a variety of receivers and other accessories
Cons
  • Limited warranty coverage
