I needed a new case for the iPad 6th Gen (2018 model). That cover just didn't exist. This cover had 15,000 reviews so I had high hopes. Now that I have it, I'm really wondering why it has so many good reviews. This case doesn't feel well made or durable. The plastic feels too brittle, the corners aren't thicker or reinforced, and some "cutouts" for button and port access are larger than necessary, contributing to a higher overall bounce rate and less protection. To be fair, I agree that this cover says "iPad Air 2" in the title, but I expected it to fit my 9.7 inch 6th gen iPad, but it didn't work. It turns out that the iPad Air 2 is 6.1. mm and the 6th gen is 7.5mm thick and that extra 1.4mm seems to make a big difference. This cover didn't quite fit to cover the corners of my iPad, but it didn't seem to fit more than a 2mm difference, not just a 1.4mm difference. I couldn't get it to "lock" but I'm not sure how good it would be for the iPad Air 2 as it didn't seem to have a good lip on the lid to secure the iPad. In fact, this iPad case had almost no "closing edge". So this case appears to be ONLY for the iPad Air 2, does not work with the original iPad Air (Air One) or iPad 5th Gen and 6th Gen, all three are 7.4mm thick. And don't even think about it for the 3rd and 4th generation iPads which are almost 2mm thicker than THIS!
