Review on Doufit Elliptical Machine: 8 Level Magnetic Exercise Training For Home Fitness Workouts With LCD Monitor & Pulse Sensors by Kenneth Broszko

First, Doufit has fantastic customer service! I reached out to them after the machine started squeaking very loudly, and they responded the same day and helped me completely solve the problem! (Read further to learn how to prevent this issue from the start so YOU don't need to reach out to them and reassemble the machine!)Second, their assembly video (in the ebay listing) is really clear and makes assembly very easy. And all of the tools are included! HOWEVER, THE VIDEO MISSES 2 EXTREMELY CRITICAL points to prevent the machine from making LOTS of loud squeaking: 1) Be sure to check the paper manual to see where to use the grease/lube! The video skips this VERY important step (The manual also misses one of the places to grease which you can see in my attached photo from their service team. Also, I recommend getting White Lithium Grease for this instead of the grease that comes with the machine. The grease that comes with it is super thick and gets pushed off when you slide the bolts in. White Lithium grease is much thinner and slicker and stays put when you slide in the bolts.) 2) BE SURE to tighten the bolts VERY, VERY, VERY tight.Once all of the above is resolved, this elliptical is really great. Small footprint and I love the colors. The stride isn't super long, and at 5'9" with really long legs, I occasionally bump my knee, but I have learned to adjust to prevent this, and am thrilled to get a pretty high quality piece of equipment at a good price. I was happy with this right away, and used for 3 days - then the squeaking began. REALLY loud squeaking! But I had not read the manual, and had only watched the video for assembly instructions. If I had initially read the instructions, I would have used the grease and possibly prevented at least some of the noise.When the noise began, I checked the manual and found that we are supposed to put grease (provided but I had missed it) in 2 spots. I disassembled part of the machine to add the grease, but it STILL made just as much noise. So I contacted them and they got back to me right away, assuring me that they would help me and requesting that I send a video so they could see/hear the sound. I did this and they responded that their engineer had reviewed the video, and suggested I tighten all of the bolts more and that I apply more grease, with a clear photo and clear instructions for where to grease and tighten (See photo - circles are where grease goes, which has one more spot to grease than in the printed manual!) I told them I was almost out of the grease, and asked for a recommendation. While waiting for their reply, my husband recommended white lithium grease which is exactly what they recommended when they responded later that day.I got some Lucas White Lithium Grease at Lowe's then I took the arms and pedal apart AGAIN (luckily it's pretty simple and all of the tools are included), and used the white lithium grease (use gloves-it's grease!) and man, what a better grease that is! I could tell immediately it was better than what came with the machine. Then I tightened ALL of the bolts, not just the ones in the diagram, and VOILA! Problem solved! It is virtually silent now.I hope that my adjustments stay, and that I do not have to grease it often. I will report back later after more time and use!I highly recommend this machine--PLEASE take my suggestions to make your experience great from the start! :-)
