Review on TP-Link TL-WN722N NT Wireless 150Mbps High Gain USB Adapter - Certified Refurbished by Adam Kardasz ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I was surprised by the quality for this price.

This is how you have to be crooked to write such clumsy drivers? A little background: I had a laptop (Dell Inspiron 1300) with a built-in Intel g-standard card as an access point for several years. So through it the telly without any problems shows even fullhd from youtube. And as they say: not a single gap. After I assembled a computer for myself, I decided to distribute the Internet through it. Since the wires are not yet thrown out of hand, I decided to buy this "miracle". Before buying, I read alarming reviews about unstable work, but I hoped for the directness of my hands. And the price bribed. I took this 722nd model, which differs from the 721st only in a stand on a wire. I wanted to have some freedom in choosing a place if necessary. Although it was possible to buy the 721st and a usb extension cable. After the purchase began dancing. At the beginning, there were no problems with installing drivers. But the access point turned out to be terrible: every 20-30 minutes the network disappeared and recovered itself in 5-10 minutes. The enumeration of different driver versions began: from the disk, from the tp-link site, from the Atheros site, even tried to search on the Qualcomm site. The version of Windows should be noted: Server 2022. Perhaps my problems are because of this, and others will not have this. Different versions of drivers behave differently: some lose connection after 1-5 minutes, others - 15-20, and there are those through which surfing on a smartphone and laptop is normal, and the TV loses connection after the same 20-30 minutes, there are some of - for which it is impossible to create an access point. 2 months of torment and busting ended on the ancient 2022 version of the driver on the tp-link website: the very first one in which support for Windows 7 appeared. /TL-WN722N_100316. Zip. I'm sitting on this version for half a day, while everything seems to be working: 2 reboots of the computer - the network has risen, 4 hours of movies on TV - there are no breaks yet. If there are problems, unnecessary things will be added to the box and you will have to return to distribution through the laptop.

Pros
  • Works. For those who want to make an access point - look for: netsh wlan.
Cons
  • Works after dancing with a tambourine. Five stars just because it works. It seems to be. After so many wasted hours and nerves. If there is even a hint of instability in the work, I will lower the rating. Had I known that there would be so much trouble with him, I would not have taken it.
