Light meter with thoughtful design

I really enjoy using the ennoLogic eL200K digital light meter and it offers excellent value for money. It's lightweight, feels comfortable in your hand, has solid construction and easy-to-use switches. I was looking for a meter sensitive to 1 lux with a sensor on the cord. The cable mounted sensor can be positioned in the desired position to comfortably hold the instrument. I also wanted the cable to be detachable from the meter for storage to extend the life of the meter. I keep the meter in a handy case. This counter meets my criteria. The backlight proved useful when using the meter in low light conditions. I used a meter throughout my home during my transition to warm LED lighting to get enough light and reduce overall power consumption. This has been particularly helpful in my transition to kitchen lighting where I have increased the level of task lighting but reduced the overall power consumption by more than half compared to my previous, already energy efficient fluorescent and compact fluorescent lamps and fixtures.

Pros
  • WORKING ON THE LIGHTING IN YOUR HOME? It can be very difficult to judge light levels objectively with the naked eye - use this meter to get an accurate reading of actual light levels every time. Compare different lamp types and wattages. Check light levels when installing accent lighting. Or maybe replace incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs? Use the ennoLogic light meter to compare the brightness before and after.
Cons
  • Socket required
