Review on Yokohama BluEarth-A AE-50 215/65 R17 99V summer by Mateusz Bana ᠌

The purchase brought only positive emotions.

Auto - Volvo XC70 2nd generation. Tires 215/65/16, before that were Nokian Hakka. Experience of use - 1 month. The tire is rigid, this is especially noticeable when passing joints on bridges and overpasses at high speed. But the feeling is not much compared to Nokian Hakka. When driving in city mode, there are no negative emotions. The tire is noisy due to rigidity. The car has very good sound insulation + I drive with loud music, so in city mode, tire noise is not heard. But at high speeds (about 100) and on rough pavement, tire noise becomes audible. I associate stiffness and noise with the weather, in Hong Kong it was cool for summer tires. Now the flip side of the coin, i. E. tires. This is very good handling. The car drives instantly, and this is with a large ground clearance (210 mm) and a fairly soft suspension. Several times, at speeds of 80 - 100, he performed the "elk test", driving around pits and hatches. Auto behaves perfectly. I believe that negative feedback may be associated with this, tk. For an inexperienced driver, such reactions can be frightening and stressful. I drove on wet roads a few times. Didn't notice any significant difference in handling. I didn’t get into deep puddles, so I can’t say anything about aquaplaning. Feels like low rolling resistance. Auto instantly responds to the slightest change in the position of the gas pedal. But this is a minus, in urban modes I can’t choose the position of the gas, the car either accelerates or slows down. I guess it's a matter of habit. By expense. Feeling reduced. I regularly drive on temporary storage warehouses, when driving at a constant speed on autopilot on Nokian Hakka, the instantaneous consumption was 7-10 liters, now it has dropped to 5-8 liters. My conclusion is that I am satisfied with the purchase so far, I think that this is an ideal option in terms of price / quality ratio. The tire is suitable for a driver who loves active driving and is ready to sacrifice some comfort for this.

Pros
  • Handling, rolling resistance
Cons
  • Harsh, noisy
