I wanted to write a review for these fake security cameras because I think they were a really good buy. I bought them about a year ago and they are holding up very well. My neighbors seem to think I've installed an expensive security system now because they see I've installed these two cameras on the front and side of my house. Several neighbors approached me and commented on the cameras. I placed them high enough to be slightly out of sight so a person passing by couldn't tell if it was fake or real. . The flashing LED indicator is a great deterrent at night. Literally four houses away, you can see a red light blinking on the roof of my house. It definitely draws attention, and that's really all it takes to keep someone. For my own peace of mind, I have the real Arlo camera system, but it's more hidden. The camera itself is plastic and feels fairly cheap, but you can't tell what it's made of from afar. out. During the day you may see other circular LED fake lights that make the camera look real. Only one light is on at night. The black cord is also a nice touch as it looks like it's connected to your home. I used two Duracell AA batteries which lasted about 5 months. As the batteries wear out, the light intensity obviously decreases. But you can still see it blinking at night. Changing the battery every 5 months or so is pretty frustrating, but I've just let the camera run for about 6 months without the LED flashing, and just the looks of the camera itself is pretty good. Cameras, you really can't go wrong with them. And like I said, all my neighbors were fooled by those cameras. I find it quite funny but I think it works. To date, not a single Revain pack has been stolen (knock on wood). I would recommend them to anyone looking for an inexpensive deterrent.
