This is a lovely pole - nothing too nasty about the pole. Some of the decorative rods available in the market create so much confusion and draw attention away from the curtain. I like it for its simplicity but with a touch of style. The only criticism is the supplied screws. These are inferior screws and absolutely do not work with heavier hardwoods. I'm repairing a Victorian car that's over 125 years old and I almost gave up installing it until someone pointed out a better bolt - a shorter, more engineered bolt. Otherwise I would put 4 starts. One thing to note is that there is a clear and distinct gold mark at the tip which I like but is not visible in the photos. Examine the photo and you will see the gold rim on various parts of the knob. Also, the pommel is more square - it has several flat sides.
