I have two Rasberry Pi 3B (2015). Pihole with Rasberian (1.1 million domains blocked by multiple REGEX domains) Kali Linux for Rasberry Pi (network security) My Pihole and Kali are resource intensive. At one point I had about 3 million domains on my pihole, but to be more efficient I reduced it to just over 1 million. I bought two cooling units (black and white). It took me 15 minutes to install each one (I did it during a work meeting). My Unifi gateway has an alternate DNS setting in case Pihole goes down. Since my pihole is set to start on boot I just removed it, installed this device and reconnected it to the POE setup on my Unifi switch. My pihole started without any problems. It was originally at 173 F. It then fell 100 F and averages about 103 F. It's almost as if Mercury or Venus had fallen into Earth's orbit around the Sun. The performance of the websites has improved significantly. I have not translated performance metrics related to DNS response. In any case, I plan to remove additional unused packages from the Linux OS to reduce overhead. But damn it's great.
