Filters not working. ¼ to ½ gallon of water remains in the upper chamber. I cleaned them according to the instructions and it never helped. In the past few days I have noticed that my throat hurts and the water has a strange taste and smell. I checked the upper chamber and it smelled like swamp or pond water and it was slimy. Everything inside was slimy, the filters and the inside of Burke's water chambers. I removed the filters, cleaned them and had to drain the water and flush everything. Then I put the old filters back in. I have had a Berkey water filtration system for a long time and have never had this problem. I wasn't feeling well either, now I realized that I was drinking that slimy water, I know why my throat hurt and why I wasn't feeling well. I don't know what to do now. I either buy new water filters or look for an alternative system.
