Does not filter all of the water in the upper chamber. The water was cloudy. sore throat

Filters not working. ¼ to ½ gallon of water remains in the upper chamber. I cleaned them according to the instructions and it never helped. In the past few days I have noticed that my throat hurts and the water has a strange taste and smell. I checked the upper chamber and it smelled like swamp or pond water and it was slimy. Everything inside was slimy, the filters and the inside of Burke's water chambers. I removed the filters, cleaned them and had to drain the water and flush everything…

I called Burke and the man was very nice but said he doesn't have many filters.

I got my Berkey filters and primed them. Then I spilled two shots of water and the water came out cloudy. I figured I had primed them wrong so I primed them again and even soaked them in a container overnight as someone online said. After that I refilled and filtered 2 more portions of water but the water was still cloudy. I called Berki and the person was very nice but said that a small number of filters have this problem and that I need to dry the filters and then refill them. I've already…

first time order not directly from Berkey

So I found these filters cheaper at Revain and replaced my 2nd set with these. Straight from the Berkey manufacturer, these items last forever and I would use my own urine if needed, they are that good. My second set is direct too and I'll go back to using pond water or urine when needed and swear by it. I ordered this next set through Amazon. Well I ordered in July 2020 and they no longer pass the paint test, something is seriously wrong and I think I bought fakes because they don't work. I…

Failed tests, unreliable

Update: If you buy Berkey, make sure you buy from an authorized dealer (contact the manufacturer or buy directly from them). I bought from a seller who turned out to be an unauthorized manufacturer. Now that the filters are out of service, the manufacturer refuses to replace them under warranty. Very funny. Why doesn't the manufacturer sell Revain directly? Absolutely ineffective for tap water, according to numerous tests, does not filter anything.

I've been using Berkey filters for about 4 years now and have always found them great for filtering my water. One day I noticed that my Berkey filtered water and tap water tasted about the same, so I decided to get a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter and see for myself how effective these "filters" are.
