After purchasing a decent 5.1 sound system from major stores I searched the internet for the best price. After a few days of research, I settled on the Logitech X540. The speakers come with matching mounting hardware that allows you to mount your speakers almost anywhere. I think my main gripe with the setup is that the speaker cables are incredibly short. I had to hook up the rear speakers, which is risky, but it worked. I was just shocked at how short the lines are. The volume hub is a nice feature. I don't have to exit the app or game to adjust the volume because I can do it on a Logitech desktop hub. There is an additional "Matrix" button that may or may not improve the listening experience. Music formatted in a certain way can be enhanced in the same way as game sounds. This depends on whether the audio file is formatted to use proprietary "Matrix" channels. So far, very few music files or games use this improvement. I've found that enabling it can actually decrease sound quality. I just don't usually use it. The sound is pretty decent for the price. The unit arrived new and factory sealed as advertised, however the magnet in the subwoofer was severed and I had to fix it. It didn't bother me much, but I could see how it might startle some others. I suspect that he loosened during transport and not in a factory marriage. In general, I am satisfied with the sound, did not bother me with the repair and additional wires that had to be added. I would suggest measuring the distance to your speakers and making sure you are happy with their placement. The speaker cables are very short.
