Review on Nikon D5100 Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm VR Lens - High Resolution 16.2MP by Chun Hyun ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm very happy, it really is worth buying.

I have been using the camera for 3 months, more than 3000 shots. The device in terms of its technical capabilities can hardly be called amateur. There is almost everything for shooting. Plus a nice bonus - video in FullHD format. Before her, he had a Canon 350d, Olympus E500, Nikon D40x. I took the D5100 because of the matrix from the older D7000, compact size and weight, swivel display and working ISO 3200. For some, there are not enough buttons . but I personally find it convenient that all the settings are under my thumb. Well, maybe for half a second I will choose the parameters longer than on other cameras, this is not critical. In terms of images received from the camera, everything is fine, sharpness, speed of autofocus, rate of fire are all at the best level for this segment of SLR cameras. Claims can be only to the skinton, but this is a purely Nikon feature that is corrected in FS or CNX2. Well, many will be satisfied with the color that the camera itself gives out. BB is adequate but it is better to set it manually. With a 35mm 1.8f lens, I can easily shoot indoors without a flash, the sensitivity of the matrix allows this. I also use a camera from a competitor company 600D. There is something to compare. In general, the Nikon D5100 is an excellent camera, a little expensive for its price segment, but after working with it, you understand that it is worth it.

Pros
  • Compact amateur camera with professional features. Great functionality.
Cons
  • Somewhat uncomfortable grip for big-armed. "Cunning" battery. Not the most comfortable viewfinder. High price.
