Do you think ASUS deserves respect? Think again...

I used to think that ASUS is a respected company. I think times are changing. I bought two of these monitors during Black Friday. They came up with promises of $30 off per monitor. You provide the following required documents to get the discount. • Signed rebate form • Copy of receipt/invoice or packing slip • Original UPC/serial number barcode label. All were sent to them. They denied this on the grounds that neither a copy of the receipt/invoice nor a packing slip was enclosed. However, this was clearly included on page 3 of her own scan. I pointed this out to them via the email they provided as the point of contact for resolving this issue. After waiting days for a response, they indicated that contacting them via email was not enough. Instead I have to call their phone line. I call and nobody picks up the phone. It's just an answering robot saying you'll call back later. Obviously they make it very difficult to claim. I should have known something was wrong when their discount form indicated that we could pay a significant portion of the discount to process it in a timely manner. If we declined and actually wanted a discount we'd have to wait many months before I see anything (I think that's how it is when they void their discount, you can't get it back!), discounts how they still behave? Do they use cheap parts that break in less than a year? Will the warranty be voided if their cheap parts break? Do they even care about the environment and CO2 emissions? Next time I'll buy from a well-known company... Next time I'll buy a Samsung.

Pros
  • 1920x1080
Cons
  • Non-intuitive menu system
