I just bought two of these ASUS VN279Q monitors for a dual monitor desktop setup. I also have an ASUS MX279H; I like its display, its silver frame, but unfortunately no VESA mount! Like most ASUS monitors, the VN279Q is a good mid-range 27-inch monitor that's great for basic computing and office work. It took me a long time to get to this review but I have to say this was one of my best purchases. As of this writing it has been almost 6 years since I bought 2 of these monitors and they still work like new. I use them 5 days a week, at least 12 hours a day and they have proven that quality is still there. Thank you ASUS!

Picture quality is excellent, but it would be nice if the speakers were at least as loud as my phone's weak speaker. The monitor’s speakers are too quiet..

Nice clear colors, vibrant, lots of modes and settings to get the exact picture you want. The speakers aren't bad, but they're a bit quiet, but that's not why I bought them (I didn't even know they were built-in).

I should have known better but it's too big to be 1080p anymore. Its my fault. EDIT: Upgraded one star (from 3 to 4) to clarify that I like the display for the price but don't like looking at visible pixels.

Unbelievable! I have bought 2 other monitors in the last 2 months and sent them back because they were defective or broke in shipping. This is definitely one of the best visualizations I've seen. This is the clearest screen I've ever seen. Customization is also amazing. I can make every aspect of an image my own. EXACTLY how I like it. The best monitor for its price. Thanks

Great picture so far. I connected it to a displayport cable which works better than my HDMI. I will update later if there are any problems.

Compared to the 24 inch Benq monitor I had before with the same specs, it has better quality and resolution. I liked the inputs and all the cables that came with it. Easy setup for Mac and Windows.

We would be happy with this monitor barring one major reliability/quality issue. This monitor has proven itself as an extended display for office work. I really like it, but the base does NOT rotate/rotate the screen, contrary to one of the answers to the question here. I Pivot Base is great for reading long doxes.

This product "resets" periodically, for example, I lose the image on the screen, I get a blue screen and it comes back. I connected it to my laptop for everyday use. Annoying. I wrote to Asus but didn't get a reply.

My main monitor is a 34 inch ultra widescreen monitor. This Asus monitor is my secondary monitor on which I do things like stream video, browse the web, view Rainmeter status, and multiple messaging windows when my main monitor is used for work. I like the size due to the fact that the vertical size is almost identical to the main 21:9 monitor. I have absolutely no complaints about that.

Okay, I'm back after returning the ASUS PB258Q - 25 inch model - we had some issues with the HDMI input and given the cost I think the quality was okay. I just installed 2 VN279Qs side by side and they look really good. One problem is that one of them seems a bit bolder and sharper than the other. I swapped HDMI cables to make sure it was the cable or the output and we got the same results. Just wondering if getting two monitors that match color is good luck with these monitors.

They are ideal for people with chronic dry eyes who find themselves staring at a screen for long periods of time! I used to connect my PS4 to my TV to play games but it was very taxing on my eyes and giving me a terrible headache. Since switching to this monitor for gaming I have had no issues with glare and can game for hours!
