I've read a lot of negative reviews about long lasting filters so I was a bit hesitant when I bought this jug. Everything is solid, my water tastes better than ever. The filter works fast, about 2 minutes will filter the tank. If the jug were completely empty, it would take about 6 tank loads to fill it up, so you're looking at 12 minutes. If you're responsible, or don't have irresponsible roommates who fill up the tank when they get a glass, then this thing should stay full for the most part! The rest of the glass is solid; very easy to clean and has an indicator light when you fill the tank to show the life of your filter. Brita claims these long-lasting filters last 120 gallons, or about 6 months. Our filter light is still green after a few months so I'd say so far so good and I'll let everyone know if anything changes.
