🚰 Brita Longlast Monterey Water Filter Pitcher: Large 10 Cup Capacity in Sleek Black Design Review

Filtered water contains black dust. The total dissolved solids content in the filtered water is 146 ppm. Worse if it was before filtering. The built-in indicator tells me I'm using a cheap regular filter instead of a long-term filter!

This pitcher is large. Can be a little heavy when full but I keep adding water. The taste is crystal clear. Super comfy and looks great on my counter. If you prefer cold water, this pitcher is perfect for the fridge. The best thing you can do is stop rocking, storing or paying for bottled water! Refill every day for 2 months and the filter is still working.

I noticed the same trickles on the handle and side of the jug when filling that were mentioned in other reviews. It took me a few fills to notice the "Max Fill" indicator, about 3/4 from the bottom of the fill area (colored plastic above the filter). If you only fill up to this line, the water will not seep any further. Filter. Filling a pitcher definitely takes a lot of trips to the sink.

I have used various versions of the Britta pitcher for over twenty years and this one is without a doubt a waste of money - and water! When filling, water comes out of the handle. When I try to pour water, the ridiculous design of the spout causes water to splash everywhere but not where I want it. I was thrilled when I finally found a jug big enough that I didn't have to refill it several times a day, but it wastes too much and makes a huge mess.

The color was not black but rather dark brown. disappointing. Other than that, so far so good, I like it a lot better than the generic Target brand I use. I've read a lot of negative reviews about long lasting filters so I was a bit hesitant when I bought this jug. Everything is solid, my water tastes better than ever. The filter works fast, about 2 minutes will filter the tank. If the jug were completely empty, it would take about 6 tank loads to fill it up, so you're looking at 12 minutes. If you're responsible, or don't have irresponsible roommates who fill up the tank when they get a glass, then this thing should stay full for the most part…

Overall I am very happy with this purchase. First, the water no longer has a strong chemical smell and taste. As recommended by the company, I keep the pitcher in the fridge to slow the growth of bacteria and mold. I then boil the filtered water before drinking it, since the jug filter does not produce sterile water. Please do not leave the mug on the counter.
