I tried it with 2-1/2 oz of beeswax. I know it's real beeswax because it comes from my beehives. I decided to start with a very small piece and add more as needed. As it turned out, the tiny part I used worked perfectly. Using a small scale I was able to weigh the part I was using to within 0.08 grams. I've put a photo of this little piece next to the dime to give you an idea of the size. The pieces are also about the thickness of a dime. Calculating the dye percentage I came up with 0.11%, I slowly melted the beeswax and once it became liquid I stirred this piece with a popsicle stick. It instantly melted smooth and blended evenly. I am satisfied with the result, I will try other colors.
