Works. This brought a very old Bose Wave (circa 2007) radio/cd player off the edge of a bin. Follow the printed instructions. (It's amazing how often this helps.) Insert the CD, label side up and shiny side down, into the front loading slot like you would any other CD. As usual, Bose dutifully puffed away at the CD. It then started gulping and stuttering while following the audio instructions as expected. After going to track 3, I waited 30 seconds, went to track 4 and unexpectedly heard continuous music. Then I put in my favorite commercial CD and our favorite old songs magically filled the room with no problem. As a final test, I tried a self-made CD and listened to it from start to finish. Like new again. I was skeptical to say the least, but for the price I realized what the heck. Some reviews said a front loading/slot drive like Bose would destroy small brushes. Others said no. Based on the reviews I couldn't imagine what it might look like and how it might work. See image. In fact, 2 sets of small brushes are included with a normal audio CD. Audio CD playback starts in the middle; rotates at 500 rpm and slows down to 200 rpm at the outer edge. So each brush goes through the lens 250 or 500 times in just one minute. That's all it took. Incredibly, to my great amazement, this little device has revived a half-dead $400 relic. Of course, it is more profitable to buy a cheap replacement yourself.
