Review on πŸͺ‘ Optimized ALPS Mountaineering Camp Chair by John Patterson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very strong, a little heavy, assembly trick

The chair is very strong with welds. Haven't used it long enough to test the fabric but it seems durable. The chair is a bit heavy and bulky as it is made of metal and only folds in one direction. Assembly can be a little tricky as rear inserts need to be installed. The chair folds with the inserts so you can put them in and out once, but then the chair is taller when folded. I've added some photos to show how to properly assemble the rear inserts. You may want to stretch the chair first before inserting the back (I did), but this complicates assembly. Instead, insert the backrest while the chair is still folded, then pull it up. See pictures. Edit: It's hard to read the text I added to the images. Essentially it says I show both the right and wrong way of assembling a chair. The wrong way is to stretch it before adjusting your back. The correct way is to leave it compressed a little, insert the back and then open it up.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Expensive
