Compared volume markings to several different measuring cups and they all matched each other and nothing matched this. I'd assume the markings were just misaligned on my cup except it becomes more accurate the more liquid you add - so the marks couldn't be right even if they were positioned higher.The 8 oz mark is 7 oz of liquid in everything else I measured. The 16 oz mark is closer - maybe 16.5 oz.Honestly, that's not a huge deal for me. It's for home use and as long as I know where I need to fill to I can work around that. The big problem is that the markings have quickly faded. They're painted on, not engraved. Not taking many steam cycles for the markings to nearly completely fade away.
