QUANTUM 600 DEAD ON ARRIVAL

DOA. These digital ballasts are the biggest scam. Quantum was bought by Hydrofarm and now the chance of getting one ready to use could be 50/50 let alone 6 months. SOMEBODY BLOWS THE SUPPLY CHAIN. THIS IS OSIN.

Pros
  • Handsfree

shoot shit. Low success rate.

I've had 9 of these in the last 1 1/2 years. The HPS bulb lights up for only 1 more time. 3 are still running with MH lamps. The rest were sent back, 2 didn't work at all, the rest stopped burning HPS after 3-5 weeks. I love the features and if they were all good like 1 I would give 5 stars but.

Bulletproof: Electrical

I've been using Quantum ballasts for three or four years. Although I don't have any specs I can say they will outlive cheap ballasts. So far I haven't had any burnout. In addition, they have no problems with dimming and dimming. Where I live we have spikes and about 300 spikes or dips a year. These ballasts keep ticking.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Fair enough, but...

Might not be worth the trouble.

Have been using Quantum ballasts for five years. Quantum 2 is quieter. But the last FOUR Quantum 2 ballasts that Revain sent me don't work. Every possible combination has been tried many times in a fully functional system. I was hoping to replace my backup Quantum One, but it still replaces another dead Quantum Two. Four non-functioning quanta in a row. How does this happen?!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Good ballast for the price!

I bought this to replace a cheaper brand I got at a station wagon shop which ended up dying after a little over a month smelling like burned electronics. It works pretty cool for a single fan ballast, is pretty quiet, has multiple dimming settings, and comes with a pretty decent warranty. I would definitely buy again but time will tell how durable this brand is in terms of failures. I will update if anything changes

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
