We have all been in a situation where we need to quickly turn the power off on our router table or contractor table saw and both of our hands are a bit pre-occupied. Reaching down and underneath your router table or contractor table saw to try and locate the power switch can be very cumbersome as well as very dangerous while your feeding stock through.Many router table setups don’t even have an external power switch separate from the router itself. With this uniquely designed and easy to locate Paddle Button Stop Power Tool Switch you can simply bump the large stop sign paddle with your knee or hip to shut the power off. That means both of your hands can stay engaged on the project while you bump the power off with your hip or knee. A large green START button is always visible on the top side of the paddle. Simply push the START button to power on. Install the switch near or at hip level or in a position that you will be able to bump it when needed. The switch comes with installation hardware and can be mounted to most any type of material. The unit has two cords. The heavy duty female cord is 18” long and designed to accept the power source plug from your power tool. The heavy duty male cord is approximately 66 inches long and is used to plug the switch unit into your standard wall outlet. Please take note that the Paddle Button Stop Power Tool Switch is 15 amps and will not work with power tools drawing higher amperage. Keep this in mind when connecting to your machinery. This switch was designed to work with smaller machinery like routers and smaller table saws. Check your machinery before using this product. The stop sign paddle measures approximately 5-3/8” tall by 3-7/16” wide to make it easy to see and even easier to contact when needed. Mounting hardware is included but some surfaces my require hardware that does not come with the switch for proper mounting.

The cables are comfortable, easy to install but feel cheap.

Easy installation with only 2 screws. The attached cables are very convenient and is the reason I decided to spend a lot more on this switch than others. The switch buttons themselves feel cheap and leave me feeling unreliable, but most of the time I don't like their cheap feel and sound. The whole big stop sign seems to get stuck when you push it and you have to pull it out again. I removed it and just use the buttons themselves.

More than just a switch

I often use a desktop router. Routers can be annoying if you let your attention wander. The oversized STOP handle makes it easy and quick to stop work when needed. You can set it up to work with your foot or knee. After stopping, you must physically pull the stop switch before the START button will function. Works great, safe and durable!

I use this on a portable table band saw. To be honest, dinnerware sets should come with these things. I used to "construct" a rope to pull on to release the velcro strap holding the trigger. This is much better, works reliably and is much more secure. The stop paddle stays depressed and keeps everything powered off until you lift it up and hit the start button. Final touches on my new router build

I had an old start/stop switch that I removed from my previous router for use on the new one that worked but can with this new switch I better turn it off the router if need be, I don't have to look for the little button. The stop paddle is securely locked in place, so you must physically pull it back out to restart the router. Good emergency stop switch switch

I bought this for my router table. He does his job and does it well. I like it, but I have two little quirks. At first the installation was a bit annoying. The bottom screw is behind two power wires that I had to disconnect before I could use a screwdriver to install them. However, this will usually be a one-time annoyance. Okay, but something to watch out for

Let me start by saying that the device works. The seller was great and my package was fast and accurate. I had several problems. First, when I opened the package, the shift paddle wasn't installed properly. Not a big deal, but I was wondering if it was the bumpy shipping process or if the design of the device was to blame?
