Okay, but something to watch out for

Let me start by saying that the device works. The seller was great and my package was fast and accurate. I had several problems. First, when I opened the package, the shift paddle wasn't installed properly. Not a big deal, but I was wondering if it was the bumpy shipping process or if the design of the device was to blame? I reattached the paddle and started testing the switches. The switches themselves are very tight. In a way, that's good because you don't have random activation. But the machines require more pressure to start than many other devices I have used. One of the main reasons I chose this unit is that it mounts flat against my cabinet and has mounting points at the top and bottom. to provide it. But as I marked my lines, I found that you can't insert a screw or a screwdriver into the space below between the two cords. I was able to get around this by unscrewing the caps that held the cable assembly in place, tightening the screw in the case, and then screwing the caps back on. To me it seemed strange. As if the manufacturer had recognized the problem and installed a fix. However, the built in fix is actually the problem itself. There are other ways to secure power cords that would avoid this. This confirmed my previous suspicion that the blade would not sit still when first tested, which was a design flaw as the locking blade had cracked. Even with slight pressure on the paddle from both sides, it jumps out of the attachment points. I set mine up so I could kneel and found that unless you're standing squarely in line, any sideways rotation would cause it to slip. Not a big deal but requires special attention during use. Eventually, when I find it going further up, I can cut off the mounting pins, drill through the sides of the blade, and run a bolt and locknut through instead. All in all a decent device, especially when you compare it to the price of others. Originally I wanted to build the block myself. When I picked up the paddle light switch, outlets, and materials to build the box and paddle, I was already looking at about $25. I thought my time was worth more than $5 so I would go ahead and buy this. I would say that you can feel safe buying the device. Just go with it and know that there are a few small issues.
